ollie: (Classy T-Rex)

Fall is the most un-enjoyable season of the year. As seasons go, I dislike Winter the most. Unlike the story-book Winters we like to think of when we hear the word, Winters around here are pretty much the opposite. There's hardly any snow, and when it does snow, it's only white for about six hours. It melts into slush after the morning and all the local smog turns what little crystalline snow is left into an ugly and dirty gray slush. The wind blows harsh and cold making going anywhere outside a fairly dubious quest.

But I was going to say something about Fall. Winter at least has holidays and vacations. Winter break is right around Xmas and New Years, both of which can be some of the best holidays of the year. But Fall comes right after Summer. One measly holiday that is hardly even a real holiday, just a long weekend, and usually dominated by family obligations to boot. You go from the best and most awesome season, Summer, into a dull, cold, and boring 13 weeks with little to look forward to, except maybe the end of the season.

Here's to the End of Summer, hot, sweaty, muggy, and droll as they can be.
